FREELS GUIDE

HD and SD Facebook video files

Freels lists only the sizes Facebook provides for that public video, and it says when the file includes audio.

What the two buttons mean

HD is the higher-resolution file. SD is the smaller file. Freels shows a size, such as 1.3 MB, when Facebook reports one. A label that says “with audio” means that file includes the soundtrack. “No audio” means the picture and sound are separate, so choose the file that includes audio when both appear.

When HD is missing

Facebook does not always offer a high-resolution copy. A Reel uploaded at a low resolution, or an older video with only one size, will show SD only. Freels cannot create an HD file that Facebook did not provide.

Which one to save

Save HD when you want the sharper picture and the file is not too large for your phone. Save SD when you want a smaller file. Both buttons download the real video file for that public link.
